Photo Recipe - Adding a little Autumn

October 29, 2014  •  1 Comment

I grew up in Ohio but live in Florida now... and the changing of the leaves in autumn is probably what I miss most. We visited my husband's parents in North Carolina in early October... a little too early for the color I was hoping to see. Luckily, we can add our own color to our photos! I found this old red barn and just wanted to add a little punch to it:

I almost always start with a veil from the Vintage collection! I love the softening effect it gives the photos. I really wanted to make the photo match the feel of the barn, so I used more layers and veils than I usually do, but love the result:

Here's what I used:

  • Plum from the Vintage Collection - 100% opacity
  • Blackberry from the Simplicity Collection - 32% opacity
  • Pomagranate Botanical Veil - 15% opacity
  • Big Bad Wolf from the Fairytale Collection - 50% opacity
  • Makawo from the Kalani Collection - 52% opacity

Simple as that! To check out Love That Shot's collections of veils and textures, click here to visit their website! If you would like to see more of my work, please visit my website at www.stacywhitephotography.com.
