The Keepers Journey
I love lighthouses... I always have. There's something about them that really draws me in. One of my all-time favorite posters growing up was a lighthouse on a stormy night with the light slicing through the clouds. I grew up in Ohio, so there weren't any lighthouses close by. Now, any chance I have to stop at one I take.
Last week I was in St. Augustine. The weather was terrible - it rained the entire time I was there. Before leaving, I went over to the St. Augustine Lighthouse and climbed the 244 stairs to the top. Upon arriving at the top, I learned that you could not go outside - with 35mph winds and stronger gusts it wasn't really the best idea. While standing at the top I turned around and looked down.... and that's where this photo came from.
